Our Team

Tom Wingo is a Florida native and has over 25 years of healthcare management experience. For over 15 years Tom owned and operated a successful Medicare certified and accredited home health agency with offices located in 3 different districts, serving 6 Florida counties. At the same time, he was also the CFO of a large independent living/assisted living facility in Tampa. He eventually took over as the retirement community’s CEO and its Administrator. Tom is a certified Assisted Living Facility Administrator with training for Extended Congregate Care and Limited Mental Health specialty licenses. He graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Bachelor of Science in Finance and has extensive training involving senior care topics. Tom is a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) and an Alzheimer's Association Support Group Facilitator.

After spending so many years caring for seniors and adults in the assisted living and home health care settings, Tom and his family decided to try something new. He asked the question: Is there an AFFORDABLE option to help families stay together longer when a loved one’s health starts to decline (either physically or cognitively), and the caregiver needs help? The answer was obvious. Adult Day Care.

After some research, Tom decided that the Tampa Bay community could really benefit from an Adult Day Care Center that was conveniently located, provided a fun and loving atmosphere, and was in a safe and supervised environment. A place where caregivers could bring their loved ones and know that they are experiencing a sense of purpose and belonging, and their lives are being transformed.

Within 4 months TLC Adult Day Care and Recreation Center was created and officially licensed. We welcome you to stop in for a tour and see how TLC is truly making a difference the lives of others.

Laury Martinez was born in Colombia. She moved to US with her mother, sister, and brother at a very young age. She is a licensed Esthetician and Makeup Artist. She has been instrumental in the growth at TLC. She started as the activity and business development director and now leads the team as one of our assistant managers. Laury is married and has 2 teenage boys. She loves traveling and spending time with her family. She also likes to cook, watch sports, and work out. She loves making people happy.

Vanessa started at TLC as the activity's director. She was quickly promoted to assistant manager by demonstrating a commitment and dedication to TLC's mission, and a love for helping others. Previous to joining TLC, Vanessa worked for six years at the Florida Health Department as a lactation consultant. She is married and has two beautiful daughters. She loves spending time with her family, working out, and watching movies. "I love working at TLC and caring for the elderly, and making sure they are safe and having a good time."

Ofelia Bates is a Registered Nurse at TLC Adult Day Care and Recreation Center. She attended Triton College in River Grove, Illinois where she received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. In the past Ofelia has worked for Advent Health as a Director of Medical/Surgical Floors and as an Administrative Nursing Supervisor. She was named "Nurse of the Year" for Advent Health - Zephyrhills, FL in 2016. When not nursing, she loves to spend time with her collection of orchids and her lovable dog Conner. Her favorite hobby is traveling.

Dee Baldwin is a Certified Nursing Assistant.  She moved here from Atlanta with her husband and adult stepson.  She has devoted her professional life to the healthcare industry and brings a broad range of experience to TLC.  She is passionate about caring for the aging population.   She enjoys playing golf and is a proud member of the “Hole in One Club”.

My name is Anahil Rivas, and I am from Venezuela. I moved to this beautiful country 3 years ago. In my country I graduated as a doctor in 2018 and worked as a general practitioner for 2 years, I love taking care of older adults and providing my experiences and knowledge at TLC. I enjoy my free time with my family.

Gail is from Massachusetts. She received a BA from the University of Massachusetts.  She was radiologic technologist for 45 years and simultaneously a pre- school teacher for 15 years. The beach is her favorite spot to relax and read. Her hobbies are painting, sewing, and playing with her two dogs. She loves spending time with her beautiful grandchildren.

Brigette was born in Lima, Peru.  She moved to Tampa from Brooklyn, NY with her husband and 3 kids. Her hobbies are playing all sports, arts, crafts, and cooking. She enjoys the love and warm hugs from her TLC family!

Celeste was born in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Tampa in 2015. She is now married and has a fur baby (dog) named Nala. She enjoys bringing out the best in people and making them laugh! As they say smiling is the best medicine!

My name is Xiomara del Carmen Benitez Gavidia, and I was born in Venezuela. I have been married for 38 years, and I was a lawyer and teacher in my native country. My greatest quality: having patience and helping others. I like doing crafts, painting, and dancing. My wishes to fulfill are to write a book and paint pictures.
